Dec. 28, 2017: Parlour Bells/Drive-By Bukkake

Citywide Blackout closes 2017 in an amazing way, with Goddamn Glenn of the band Parlour Bells. The band released a new album, "Waylaid in the Melee," with a tremendous response from their fans. Glenn and Max talk about the work that went into this one and the political elements incorporated into some of the songs. We also talk about future goals, especially the hope that we have that things will improve.

John and Brian of the band Drive-By Bukkake are also in to talk about a new release, "Crucial Loads." In addition to the digital release, the band has also put out a limited, 100-copy vinyl release. John, Brian, and Max talk about the music media of old, and how it's making a comeback in a number of ways.

Dec. 21, 2017: Underdog Comics/Talli Clemons

Opening the show we have Tessa and Zack from Underdog Comics. Seeing a lack of diversity in the media and in the world of comics, this group of young artists has produced a number of titles that feature women, ethnic minorities, the LGBT+ community, people from different religions, and much more. We talk about their creative process, how the titles have developed, and the message behind the stories.

Actor Talli Clemons got into the movie world six years ago, and since then, he's been hard at work in feature films, shorts, and music videos. He talks about what got him into acting, the reactions from his friends, and the different roles that he's taken on over the years.

Dec. 14, 2017: The Big Lonesome/Mercury and the Architects/DJ Kid Kash

The Big Lonesome

The Big Lonesome return to Citywide to talk about their new album, "Fascination." The band recently finished a tour supporting the release, and share some stories of the many places they played at. They also talk about the experience of traveling and how it's helped them.

Next up, TJ Mercury of the musical duo of Mercury and the Architects calls in to talk about their new release, "The Ghost That Haunts My Castle." TJ talks about the message of the music and how they want to spread a personal self-awareness through their work. He and his sister, who makes up the second half of Mercury, have been on a journey with many ups and downs, but its helped them find their true role.

DJ Kid Kash and the guys from Stereo Pleasure fill the WEMF studio with a lot to talk about. Formed in 2017, they've collected 500 songs from artists all over Boston to help get their work to a larger audience. A site will be launched in 2018, and we delve into how they've found the artists and what makes them want to work with them.

Dec. 7, 2017: A Wish for Fire/Eli Font/B.A.D.D. and S7even Sinz

Opening the latest episode, we've got Nic and Sep from the band A Wish For Fire. A longtime favorite of the show's host, this band has been around for more than 15 years and still has a long way to go, with a new album planned for 2018 and a number of shows. We talk about the band's origins, what the different lineup changes have brought to the table, and what they have planned for the next year.

Next up, singer-songwriter Eli Font shares some of the songs from his newest release, which he produced himself. A man dedicated to his art, Eli is always working on a new project or idea, and along with sharing the stories behind the new album, talks about the two additional releases he has planned for the next year.

Citywide's Production Coordinator B.A.D.D. takes the mic to tell us about his new songs, and new role at JAMN 94.5. In addition, he brings fellow hip-hop artist S7even Sinz who gives an intro into his work and the highlights of his career.

To kick things off, we've got Scott Matalon from the band Matalon, Lucretia of Lucretia's Daggers, and Jeff Royds in the house. They're prepping to hit the stage at PA's Lounge on Saturday, along with The Negans. We talk about what's new with these artists, what it takes to make a really good show, and what we can expect in 2018.

Author Mike Squatrito returns to tell us all about the 5th Annual Rhode Island Author Expo happening this Saturday. Along with 125 writers, there will be all sorts of panels to educate those looking to get into the writing business. In addition, Kate Eppers and Brian Murphy talk about the show audiobook they're of Mike's first book that they're producing with show host Max Bowen.

ShellzDaGod is back in the studio with a slew of new music to share. He's also got a new music video out, and we look at the filming process, the stories that he captures in the videos, and how to deal with the unexpected obstacles.
