The New England Music Awards and Artist Conference

The best and brightest of the New England music scene return to the Mill City. The New England Music Awards is once again at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium, the event boasts awards and performances with the rising stars of the New England music scene encompassing every state across the New England area with awards for many designations including genre and state. The event is based off the nomination and votes of the fans, and is judged by industry professionals from various media segments including television, radio, newspaper, local label execs and booking agents.

The result is that for one night, Lowell becomes the cultural nexus of New England's music scene and the various acts come together in celebration. Tickets are now available from the Lowell Memorial Auditorium for the cost of $10 and will be available on the day of the event through the box office as of this release. Also returning this year is the conference aspect of the New England Music Awards, held from noon to 5:30 p.m. the day of the event and programmed by West Terrace Media. During the day of the event, industry professionals take time to lecture and field questions from the general public about the current topics that concern the industry. This aspect is held completely free to the public, and is a great way for people to network and create a dialogue with those on the forefront of the New England music scene.

The event will begin sharply at 7 p.m. and this year will feature The Radar Award. This award will be a celebration of young artists with significant promise made possible by a new partnership between the New England Music Awards and Pavoh.org, a nonprofit agency "committed to helping young musicians of all genres, backgrounds, and means come together to make their music."

The Radar Award(s) will be presented on Friday night, Feb. 21 at the UMass Lowell Inn and Conference Center during The NE Music Awards VIP/Kickoff Party, the event will feature live performances from The Radar Class of 2014 as well as guest speakers and a musical performance by a 2013 NE Music Award winner (TBA)
