Feb. 19, 2015: Vegan Chef Lisa Kelly/Dorks in Dungeons/NEMA Con

Vegan chef Lisa Kelly

Vegan chef and writer for The Vegan Pact Lisa Kelly explains what the vegan lifestyle entails, and shares some food with Max and Jeff. We also talk about the benefits to going vegan, how it differs from being a vegetarian, and the classes she holds on how to make vegan desserts, salads, soups, and more.

Michael Ficara of the comedy group Dorks in Dungeons is next. He shares the origin of this group, now in their third season, the roles they take on, and some of the shows they've done since they first got together.

Wireless Mike Flynn rounds out the show, and he's got a lot to say! As the co-founder of the New England Music Awards, there's a lot happening over the next few months, including the NEMA Con, some shows, and the main event itself in April.

Feb. 12, 2015: Secret Dog Brigade/Heavy Rotation Records/Daphne Lee Martin

Matt Zappa talks with Gavin, Ben, and Jess about Secret Dog Brigade

We start the show with Gavin, Jess, and Ben, some of the minds behind the Secret Dog Brigade, a new venture to create a true music community here in Boston. These guys have some big plans in the works, and it all begins with a launch party on Sunday, Feb. 15, in Somerville.

EDIT: Due to the snow and the MBTA being shut down, the launch party was rescheduled to April 2.

Next, we're joined by Grayson Kirtland of Heavy Rotation Records, a Berklee College of Music-run label that showcases some of its best musicians through a yearly release called Dorm Sessions. The 10th volume is out, and we're going to hear all about it. Joining Grayson is the band Fever Charm, one of the groups featured on the album. The release show for the new album is going to be held on Feb. 18.

Last but far from the least, singer/songwriter Daphne Lee Martin is about to hit the road for her "You Say Trouble, I Say Fun" tour. During the interview we mention the kickoff event as being held at the Burren on Feb. 15, but due to the snowstorm, it has been rescheduled to April 26. We'll hear all the details about the planning for this tour, where she's going, and some of her past tour stories.

Feb. 5, 2015: Hana Khan/Aloud/SexyFunTime

Singer/songwriter Hana Khan joined us for a great acoustic live set and a look at the personal stories behind her music. She's played a number of shows since the year began, with many more in store.

Henry and Jen from the band Aloud talk about their first show of the year, the new music they've got in store, and the ever-elusive Boston Music Scene Illuminati. They don't exist, by the way.

Finally, Brenda tells us all about the SexyFunTime show that the American Family Happily Institute is putting on. Described as a kids party for adults, it's not one to be missed!
